Neighborhood Focus: The West Village

The West Village has managed to become a hot bed for things to do. Whether it's enjoying Sunday brunch with your friends, shopping for trendy yet unique looks, or having dinner with the family, there is an endless array of things to do, see, and all-around enjoy. When walking through the streets drawn by the picturesque brownstone homes, you naturally seem to take notice of all the hidden gems that this neighborhood has to offer.
Much of the neighborhoods restaurants and cafes predominantly demonstrate authentic French cuisine. You could start your day off with brunch at Buvette, where the long waiting line is part of the bistro's appeal. With people waiting for minutes on end for the French culinary experience, " " is notably one of the best breakfast places in the West Village; and if you are not one to wait in line for a croque madame (no matter how good), they also serve delicious dishes for lunch and dinner, until 2 AM. Other destinations for some specialty cuisine are Perla Cafe and Anissa, who offer authentic platters that will most definitely satisfy your culinary cravings.
Apart from cuisine, this quaint neighborhood also has a series of galleries and bookshops, if you are aiming to experience the more artistically appealing places in the West Village. Be sure to pay a visit to the Maccarone art gallery on Greenwich Street to enjoy all the contemporary art pieces that the gallery has to offer. One could also stroll done Commerce Street and stop by the Cherry Lane Theatre, one of the oldest off-Broadway in the Big Apple, to enjoy classical and/or contemporary productions.
Whether it is strolling through the streets to snap photos of the beautiful buildings, or taking a break to enjoy wine and some food, the West Village has a lot to offer in terms of history, cuisine, and entertainment.
